A total of 5.2 miles of hiking to the falls. Beautiful scenery and spots for amazing photos. Some off the beaten path routes yield even better photographic spots. Slippery rocks are an issue mainly toward the top, use caution. 2nd mini waterfall had a hop in it from one rock to the other. Some may find that difficult. Saw a young Buck and a Momma Bear with her 2 cubs on the way out. What a day!
Combined with the beautiful trail and the weather, this trails goes to my list of one the best trails. The fall is beautiful.
The falls were beautiful, but be prepared for a long, hard hike. It took two adults about 5 hours to complete the trail. Half of the trail was burned in the fall of 2016. Beautiful trail, just more work than we expected.
One if the best trails in the Smokies. There was some fire damage but its not nearly as bad as Chimney Tops. Plus the trail was cleared and reopened quickly. Its a good hike if you're looking for long empty stretches without feeling totally isolated. The falls themselves are beautiful. Try going after a hard rain to see them at the maximum volume.
Nice, little half-day hike. After 11:30am, the trail gets a bit crowded. Pretty falls you can climb around a bit. Some slippery rocks, though. Pretty rocky trail in some sections and the way to the falls is pretty much all uphill. So, the way back is almost all downhill. Be warned, folks with knee problems. Nice sound of moving water for a large chunk of the hike. Very relaxing.
