The police prey on tourists and locals because they get away with it, all for Revenue. Petty stops are profitable for the Gatlinburg police. Bad manners, puffy chested authoritarian bully attitudes. They know you will just pay the fine instead of driving back from another state to go to court.
Called to report people fighting and yelling about drugs outside my motel room the dispatcher/officer on the line the 2nd time I called bc no-one showed up after 45 mins after my first call after he laughed said "I don't know what you want us to do about it, people can do whatever they want outside their room. But I'll pass the word along." I'm sure he did......I thought their duty was to serve and protect not you call and we reject. The police chief should really evaluate his night shift and give serious consideration to making changes.
We had an emergency tonight on the strip. My 4 year old got choked.. it was around 10:55 pm.. there were no other cars behind me at all so I stopped while my husband made sure he was okay with emergency blinkers.. We were only stopped for maybe 45 seconds and this cop working tonight on November 19th 2017 that was driving a white car and looked to have blonde hair maybe late 30s early 40s pulls over and was so rude to me I couldn't believe I had been talked to that way.. As he pulls up I rolled down my window and apologized and tried to tell him it was an emergency and he gets VERY aggressive with me so I apologized and he kept sitting there and said something under his breath while shaking his head at me.. if that is the kind of people serving the public around here I will not come back and spend my money here to be treated that way ever again. You all need to have a good talk with that man because he is out of line.. if he had of gotten out and given me a ticket I would've been way happier.. How he spoke to me was disrespectful and innaproproate.. i would love to know how I can make a complaint against him..
It wasn't very pleasant some officers need to learn the difference between a drunk driver and one that is sleep.I work 3rds take my kids to school in the morning then my wife to work in gp . I had been doing that for the whole month of November. Besides resting and getting caught up on my rest I decided to fix my under pending and insulate my home after working all morning to 4 in the afternoon my wife called me to come get her from work . Then my nightmare began a young cop with something to prove DUI . I may have been falling asleep driving but I past a drug test for my porloe officer .but all cops ain't like him he could have gave me a ticket for anything but that .there all not bad just this one
Very rude and unprofessional officers here in Gatlinburg. Don't plan on ever coming back!
