Pricing is appalling for what you get. This was my first visit at a Mellow Mushroom. I ordered a shiitake pizza and the minimal amount of toppings were all dumped in the middle, resulting in a ridiculous amount of dry and boring crust. The flavor was there but I would never consider ordering a pizza here again because really only half of it could be called a “pizza”. I understand competitive pricing, however, the pricing on the pizzas considering you barely get any toppings and those toppings are only in the middle, leads me to confidently declare that pizzas at Mellow Mushroom are a complete rip off.
I would give a minis 100 stars for the crew today. What a bunch of no good liars. I was sitting outside for 2 hours went in to buy a soda when all three employees stepped around me and said to each other let's go smoke. Where the whole crew stepped outside to smoke. I had to walk up to ole Smokey's to buy a soda. Cause no one was in restaurant to sell me the drink. I got back a man and wife stopped me to ask if I wanted the rest of there pizza I was like sure if you gonna throw it out. They called police to tell them I was panhandling . Cause me to get a $100 plus court cost ticket for no reason. When your own people can't do there job. They are too high to see all I was doing was writing poems and drawing. Need a better crew . The man named Shawn that usually there is amazing even tho man serving bar today said he was crazy and not all there. If he was there the place wouldn't be so bad.
My husband and I love Mellow Mushroom. We ate there this past Tuesday night. The pizza was great the drinks were good (a little pricey, but good). The server was polite. The reason for the 3 out of 5 stars is due to the millennials at the hostess stand when we walked in. There were 2 young men and one young lady, all 3 were on their phones and neither of them welcomed us into their restaurant. We felt as though we had walked into the restaurant next door (Dick’s Last Resort).
My husband ordered one of the burgers, the ritz burger. He said it was cold but it appeared to be cooked well done as he had ordered and he said it tasted very good upon the initial bite so he proceeded to enjoy and consume the entire thing. 4-6 hours later, he was incredibly sick to his stomach and vomited several times throughout the evening. The burger was the only food item that we didn’t share and I did not get sick at all so we suspect it was the culprit and must have sat out for too long. I don’t think my husband will ever willingly eat at a Mellow Mushroom again.
We went with a large party (11 adults and 5 kids) and were very pleasantly surprised with this restaurant. The food was good and we were able to all fit at two of the long tables out on the deck. It's a great place for the kids to sit because they could see outside and parents weren't as worried about them being loud (with all the noise on the street and with other patrons on the deck). We got the Margherita pizza with pepperoni and it was delicious. I especially loved the swirl of pesto they put on it. We also tried the buffalo wings and they were okay but probably not worth the money. The ranch and blue cheese dressings were good too! Some of the people in our party got the BBQ chicken pizza which I will definitely give a try next time. The server seemed to be running a bit slow and frazzled but that could've just been the size of our group
My family was looking forward to eating here. The place wasn’t packed and were promptly seated. However the server never came. Not even to get our drink options. We saw staff walking back and forth which I am assuming that they were taking care of their tables. My family was really hungry so we only waited for 5 minutes and decided to leave. I informed the hostess that no one came and that we were leaving. He responded by saying “ok, have a great day and see you soon”. It’s obviously their standard saying which means he wasn’t paying attention. We went to 5 Guys and had the best service and food!
The one redeeming quality, and the reason I gave any stars at all, was the pretzels with the beer cheese dip. They were outstanding and they really nailed the beer cheese dip. You also get a lot of pretzels in an order so we found this menu item to be appropriately priced for what you get.
