My fiancé and I stayed here this past weekend for one night. We spent our day hiking then checked in after our long day. The man at the front desk was a veteran, very polite and welcomed us happily. The rooms are what you would expect for the price, and we knew that coming in. It was dated, but that being said, we are there to sleep. It was clean and the beds were very comfortable. Great location, just a few minutes walk to downtown. I would recommend to someone that doesn't need all the bells and whistles in a hotel to have a good vacation.
On my 3rd night, the room next to me separated by a thin paper door was quite loud. I went to the front desk where an older man said "what do you want now ". I got an attitude for asking for a new room. There were many empty rooms. I don't know what his fuss was about.
Price is good. Bed was comfortable. However, should not have to plead with staff to get a room change and be treated like an inconvenience. Stay was good up until then.
Excellent staff and service. My girlfriend and I were going to initially stay from 11/27-11/29, but she got sick and couldn't make the ride home. The lady up front (Im assuming the owner) was very gracious and let me book the room once more but this time at a discounted rate. I've been staying at Mountain House Motor Inn for about 8 years now during my trips to Gatlinburg. I'll continue to give these folks my business!! Clean rooms and always stocked well.
My wife and I stay here every year, absolutely love this place. Prices are unbeatable and the staff is so accommodating and friendly. We had to keave a day earlier than we had planned and they refunded that last nights stay without any issue. Rooms are always clean and well kept.
Had a great experience at the Mountain House Inn. I have been going to G-burg for over 30 years. The room was very clean, and seemed to have been updated recently. The cost of the room was reasonable for the location being two blocks from the back of the Village shops and onto the parkway... Definitely will be staying here again!!
I was told I was " the only one in 3 years" to request a new room for noise.
