Ok hotel, problem was that one of the rooms smelled like sewage but they moved us to a different room. The balcony was also shared by three other people. The power cords also fell easily out of outlets so you had to be careful when you were charging your phone. On the bright side it was in walking distance of pretty much everything.
When we arrived at the Hotel we were greeted by Sandy who was amazing! She provided us with an upgrade because we were celebrating our 5 year Wedding Anniversary as well as recommendations on places to visit! I can't provide enough words to explain our wonderful experience. The only downside I would see is the shared balcony. We weren't able to enjoy the view that often due to being placed beside a couple who smoked pretty heavily on the balcony itself. But, that wasn't enough to keep us from returning, we will be back.
Good Hotel - Watch for Bears
We had a great stay, they were painting the outside while we were there. The rooms were great and quiet we slept well. Breakfast was good could use a second waffle maker so you don't have to wait as long. We wished the fireplace in our room worked and the balcony could have been private but not a big deal. Overall we are happy and will most likely book there again great location easy access.
I have a high degree of respect for bears and they have every right to be walking around. I am not complaining about the bears. I love them, actually! I was walking my dog outside of the back stairwell and came way too close to a big black bear. I have never ran faster. The bear wasn't threatening me even though I had just interrupted him eating his dinner. The hotel is nice enough for me and the wild bear was even better. Just wanted to give a heads up - especially to parents with little kids.
Convenient to downtown Gatlinburg. We liked the balcony on the river. It was clean, some minor cosmetic issues typical of an older hotel, no complaints about service. Would stay there again.
